Panda 4.2, July 18, 2015

2-3% of queries were affected; confirmed, announced. Google says a Panda refresh began this weekend, but will take months to fully roll out.

The Quality Update - May 3, 2015

On 3rd May 2015 Google announce Phantom 2 update. Google says it is a Quality update and it had a broad impact but Google didn't reveal any specific nature about the update. 

Mobile Update "Mobilegeddon" - April 21, 2015

For the first time Google has Pre-announced about the algorithmic update which will affect the major search rankings in Google and Google will prefer Mobile friendly sites for the ranking in search engines.

Unnamed Update - February 4, 2015

Many webmasters and SERP trackers found that there is major flux e-commerce site for the mobile usability. But Google didn't confirm an update.

Earthquake Terminology & Glossary

Earthquake:

A sudden slipping or movement of a portion of the earth’s crust, accompanied and followed by a series of vibrations.

Aftershock:

An earthquake of similar or lesser intensity that follows the main earthquake.

Epicenter:
The place on the earth’s surface directly above the point on the fault where the earthquake rupture began. Once fault slippage begins, it expands along the fault during the earthquake and can extend hundreds of miles before stopping.

Fault:

The fracture across which displacement has occurred during an earthquake. The slippage may range from less than an inch to more than 10 yards in a severe earthquake.

Magnitude:

The amount of energy released during an earthquake,which is computed from the amplitude of the seismic waves. A magnitude of 7.0 on the Richter Scale indicates an extremely strong earthquake. Each whole number on the scale represents an increase of about 30 times more energy released than the previous whole number represents. Therefore, an earthquake measuring 6.0 is about 30 times more powerful than one measuring 5.0.

Seismic Waves:

Vibrations that travel outward from the earthquake fault at speeds of several miles per second. Although fault slippage directly under a structure can cause considerable damage, the vibrations of seismic waves cause most of the destruction during earthquakes.

Google Announce New Search Analytics Report in Google Webmaster Tool.

If you manage a website, you need a deep understanding of how users find your site and how your content appears on Google's search results. Until now, this data was shown in the Search Queries report, probably the most used feature in Webmaster Tools. 

We’ve heard you! Today, we’re very happy to announce Search Analytics, the new report in Google Webmaster Tools that will allow you to make the most out of your traffic analysis.

The new Search Analytics report enables you to break down your site's search data and filter it in many different ways in order to analyze it more precisely. For instance, you can now compare your mobile traffic before and after the April 21st Mobile update, to see how it affected your traffic.

SEO Strategy : Differences and Similarities Between Google, Yahoo & Bing Search Engine

Many of us think that the SEO strategy is same for Google, Yahoo and Bing Search Engines. Users think that if you are ranking well in Google then you must be doing good in Yahoo and Bing search engines also, but this is not true.

As we all know that Search result is same for Yahoo and Bing.

Below are the Similarities between Google & Yahoo, Bing Search Engines.

1. Paid Search Result : Paid result works same for all three search engines. This is paid result for a website.

2. Quality Links : Google gives preference to the quality back links after Penguin update. Bing also gives preference to quality links. A site having good number of quality back links appears top in Search results. So, its very important to have good number of quality back links.

3. Local Search Result : Local search Result is same for Google and Bing/Yahoo search engines.

Below are the Differences between Google & Yahoo, Bing Search Engines.

1. Search Terms (Keywords):

Google : After Hummingbird update Google bot recognize's synonyms and contextual meaning of the search query.
Bing : Bing Prefers Exact Keyword Match.

2. Domain Age :

Google : Domain age does not matter a lot for Google because if a site has quality back links and good content then it will also rank well.
Bing : Bing favors Domain age while ranking the site.

3. Search Query :

Google : If a search query has two meanings then the most popular site will rank first.
Bing: Bing gives preference to local search results.

4. Flash:

Google: Google bot doesn't understand flash websites. 
Bing : Bing crawler understand flash websites and sometimes Bing gives credit to these website.

5. Mobile Optimization:

Google: Google has already started from 21st April ranking boost for mobile friendly website.
Bing:  Currently it's not confirm that Bing will introduce or not Mobile friendly site as a ranking factor or not.
